Play Readers will meet Oct. 26

Play Readers of Denton will meet Tuesday, Oct. 26, upstairs at the Campus Theatre, starting at 7 pm to read a play out loud. The Campus Theatre is located at 214 W. Hickory, Denton.

Last week, Playwrights of Denton met. Member Sonny Bynum presented the outline and first scene of a new play he's writing with DCT's new Black Box theatre in mind. The next meeting of Playwrights of Denton will be Tuesday, Nov. 16. Member Claud Singer will have the newest draft of his work-in-progress, Merisi, and we'll need LOTS of readers. Please plan to join us if you can!

The Second Saturdays Seminar on Nov. 13 will feature a presentation on volunteering at the Campus Theatre by DCT 2010 Volunteer of the Year Betsy Deiterman. The seminar is free and runs from 1-3 pm at the Campus Theatre. Reservations are not required but are appreciated so that we can make enough copies of handouts: call 940 382-7014 x3 or email thedctteam@campustheatre.com to let us know you're plannning to attend.

DCT's production of The Mystery of Edwin Drood opens Oct. 29 and runs until Nov. 7. The show, by Rupert Holmes, is a musical treatment of Dickens' last, unfinished novel. Because the author didn't provide the ending, the audience will get to vote on who did it! Tickets can be purchased M-F 1-5 at the Campus Theatre box office, 940 382-1915, or online through www.campustheatre.com.

Auditions for DCT's contest show, Proof, will be Nov. 1 and 2 at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre. Public performances will run in January, before the AACT competitions begin. More info at www.dentoncommunitytheatre.com (click on "Events and Shows" and scroll down to "Auditions"). Break a leg, everyone!

Hope to see you at the Campus soon!
