Play Readers will NOT meet Oct. 29

Because Oct. 29 is the fifth Tuesday in the month, Play Readers will NOT meet this coming Tuesday. On Tuesday, Nov. 5, Play Readers will meet to read Who's In Bed With the Butler, in anticipation of the upcoming auditions for DCT's Mainstage production of it directed by Johnny Williams.

For the next Second Saturdays Seminar, Elsie Barrow will be "Raiding the Costume Closet" on Nov. 9 from 1-3 pm at the DCT POINTBank Black Box. The Second Saturday in December, on Dec. 14, will be our quarterly Volunteer Orientation. It will start at 1 pm at the Campus Theatre, and both old and new volunteers are welcome.

 Playwrights of Denton will meet Nov. 18 at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre. If you're bringing something and need readers, please email thedctteam@campustheatre.com as soon as possible!

 Playwriting Competition and Festival
Denton Community Theatre is pleased to announce the call for scripts for the third annual Method and Madness one-act playwriting competition. The winning plays will receive cash prizes and staged readings at the Method and Madness Playwriting Festival at the DCT POINTBank Black Box Theatre May 30and 31, 2014. All submissions must run under 50 minutes; comedies, dramas, musicals, and experimental pieces are all welcome. Awards range from $2000 for first place to $200 for fifth place. Submission deadline is December 1, 2013. Playwrights of Denton will meet Oct. 15--we need readers!

 Playwrights of Denton will meet Oct. 15 at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre. We'll be reading Claud Singer's adaptation of Tony Hillerman's Sacred Clowns on Oct. 15. We're going to need lots of readers for this one, so please put it on your calendar!

Play Readers of Denton will meet Oct. 8

Play Readers of Denton will next meet Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre to read a play out loud. Last week, four of us read A Tuna Christmas, with the 2 women reading all the male roles and the 2 men reading all the female roles!
