Play Readers of Denton will meet June 5

Play Readers of Denton will next meet on June 5 at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre. Jessica Phillips will take over as facilitator for most of the summer while Julie's in rehearsal. Playwrights and Second Saturdays Seminars will be on hiatus until after DCT's production of Hairspray.

Congratulations to Play Readers Susanne Coffey, Damon Wadyko and Julie Brinker, who have been cast in DCT's Mainstage production of Hairspray under the direction of Play Reader Clay White.

Auditions for DCT's Black Box production of Baby with the Bathwater will be June 10 and 11 at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre. More info at http://www.dentoncommunitytheatre.com/#!auditions. Break a leg!

Play Readers of Denton will meet Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the Campus Theatre to read a play out loud. We have the new draft of Garden of Eden by local playwright Claud Singer to read, if that works for everyone.

Please note that there will be no Play Readers meeting on May 29, which is the fifth Tuesday in the month (and a busy night for rehearsals for the Method and Madness staged readings).

The next meeting of Playwrights of Denton will be June 19.

The Method and Madness Playwriting Festival is coming up! Registration forms are available at http://www.dentoncommunitytheatre.com/#!_outreach-home/play-writing-contest. In addition to a great lineup of staged readings, we're also proud to announce that workshops will feature distinguished speakers like Michael Serrecchia (who starred on Broadway in the original cast of A Chorus Line, among many other productions) and published playwrights and authors Donna Trammell, Donna Fielder, Randy Schmidt, and John Evarts, as well as mental health experts Dr. Linda Rubin, Dr. Dan Creson, and Susanne Coffey.
We’re seeking volunteers to help backstage at the Festival—if you’d like to help with stage managing, light or sound board op, or costumes, please contact Julie Brinker at 940 382-7014 x3 or email thedctteam@campustheatre.com.
