Play Readers will meet June 4

Play Readers of Denton will next meet June 4 at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre to read a play out loud. Last week, we read The Play About the Baby by Edward Albee.

The next meeting of Playwrights of Denton will be June 18 at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre. Please email thedctteam@campustheatre.com if you're bringing something that requires readers!

Make plans to see the Method and Madness Playwriting Festival THIS WEEKEND--there are two more evenings of staged readings of new one-act plays with talkbacks after and an afternoon of workshops, panels, and table readings on Saturday at Dan's Silverleaf. The Second Saturdays Seminar on June 8 (1-3 pm at the Campus--and it's FREE) will be a Volunteer Orientation! Representatives from almost all of our major departments will be here to talk about how YOU can help US be a better theatre!

Sly Fox will be opening on June 7 and run for two weekends. This hilarious adaptation Ben Jonson's Volpone is set in 1890's San Francisco and revolves around a con man's schemes to get richer quicker--the cast is full of Play Readers, including Dennis Welch in the lead role, Johnny Williams, Brad Speck, Polly Maynard, Bob Ize, Kevin Wickersham, Bryan Patrick, and John Rodgers.

The Second Saturdays Seminar on May 11 will be held at the POINTBank Black Box Theatre, 318 E. Hickory, at 1 pm. The topic will be "Anatomy of a Production: Hamlet" and we'll have a performance group from NCTC as our guest artists. And it's free!
