Play Readers will meet Jan. 24

Play Readers of Denton will meet Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre to read a play out loud.
 
The next Playwrights of Denton meeting is scheduled for Feb. 21, 2017 at 7 pm. Please email thedctteam@campustheatre.com if you have something you'd like read asap.

This is the final weekend of DCT's Mainstage production of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, which includes Play Readers Polly Maynard, Melanie Welch, Susan Thornton, and Dr. Linda Rubin in the cast and crew.

Playwrights of Denton will meet Jan. 17

The next Playwrights of Denton meeting is scheduled for Jan. 17, 2017 at 7 pm. We have a playwright, Kurt Hyde, who'd like to present, so please let us know if you're available to read by emailing thedctteam@campustheatre.com. 

The play is Black-Eyed Peas and has four characters: one adult male; one adult female; one teen-aged boy; and one teen-aged girl. It takes place in the South during Reconstruction. A widow and her two children struggle to survive while a Yankee carpetbagger takes whatever he can.

It takes about 15 to 20 minutes.

Play Readers of Denton will meet again Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre to read a play out loud, when we'll begin our 11th year of meeting!

Play Readers of Denton will not meet again until Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre to read a play out loud. Last week, we read Christmas Cactus, courtesy of Jessica Phillips. We'll begin our 11th year of meeting on Jan. 10, 2017 (note that we won't be meeting Jan. 3)!

Play Readers will meet Dec. 13

Play Readers of Denton will meet Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre to read a play out loud. This will be our final meeting, so let's plan to have an informal celebration--snacks welcome. Last week, we read Christmas Belles. We'll begin our 11th year of meeting on Jan. 10, 2017 (note that we won't be meeting Jan. 3)!

DCT's Production Class of 7-12 year-olds is presenting A Christmas Stocking this weekend at the Black Box--appropriate for all ages. Facilitated by DCT Outreach and Education Director Julie Brinker, it's a sure way to get into the holiday spirit. DCT's special event production of The Christmas Express opens tonight at the Campus Theatre  and runs two weekends. Play Readers will NOT meet Nov. 22

A heads up that Play Readers will NOT meet Tuesday, Tuesday, Nov. 22 off, which is the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. And Nov. 29 is the fifth Tuesday of the month, so we'll also be off that night.
