Play Readers of Denton will meet Sept. 10

Play Readers of Denton will next meet Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre to read a play out loud.Last week, we read Jane Martin's Jack and Jill.

The next meeting of Playwrights of Denton will be September 17 at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre. Please email if you're bringing something that requires readers. NB: The reading of Claud Singer's Sacred Clowns will be moved from Sept. 17 to Oct. 15. We're going to need lots of readers for this one, so please put it on your calendar!

The Second Saturdays Seminar on Sept. 14 will be our quarterly Volunteer Orientation. It will start at 1 pm, and both old and new volunteers are welcome.

The scripts for Who's in Bed with the Butler and Miracle on 34th Street are in and available for checkout from the Box Office of the Campus Theatre. We'll be reading both of them closer to auditions.

Third Annual Method and Madness
 Playwriting Competition and Festival
Denton Community Theatre is pleased to announce the call for scripts for the third annual Method and Madness one-act playwriting competition. The winning plays will receive cash prizes and staged readings at the Method and Madness Playwriting Festival at the DCT POINTBank Black Box Theatre May 30and 31, 2014. All submissions must run under 50 minutes; comedies, dramas, musicals, and experimental pieces are all welcome. Awards range from $2000 for first place to $200 for fifth place.
