Play Readers will meet Dec. 11
Play Readers of Denton will meet Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 7 pm at the Campus
Theatre to read a play or two out loud from the entries we've received for the Method and Madness Playwriting Competition. Last week, we read Everybody Comes to Rick's, the original play that Casablanca is based on, (thanks to Play Reader Suzanne Sweeney). It was really fun to compare and contrast it with the movie.
Because of the way the December holidays fall on the calendar this year, Playwrights of Denton won't meet until Jan. 15.
The Second Saturdays Seminar on Dec. 8 (1-3 at the Campus Theatre) will focus on reading and adjudicating 2 or 3 of the plays submitted to the Method and Madness Playwriting Festival. It's a great way to hear some brand-new plays!
If you're interested in directing or acting in the Method and Madness New Plays Festival May 30-June 1, it's not too early to contact Julie at thedctteam@campustheatre.com. We especially want potential directors to be involved in the final round of adjudication in February/March.
It's a Wonderful Life opens Dec. 7 and runs until Dec. 16. More info at the DCT website, www.dentoncommunitytheatre.com.
