Play Readers on hiatus until Jan. 10

Play Readers of Denton will not meet again until Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre to read a play out loud. Last week, we read Christmas Cactus, courtesy of Jessica Phillips. We'll begin our 11th year of meeting on Jan. 10, 2017 (note that we won't be meeting Jan. 3)!

The next Playwrights of Denton meeting is scheduled for Jan. 17, 2017 at 7 pm. We have a playwright, Kurt Hyde, who'd like to present, please let us know if you're available to read by emailing thedctteam@campustheatre.com. 

The play is Black-Eyed Peas and has four characters: one adult male; one adult female; one teen-aged boy; and one teen-aged girl. It takes place in the South during Reconstruction. A widow and her two children struggle to survive while a Yankee carpetbagger takes whatever he can.

It takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
