Play Readers will meet June 25

Play Readers will meet Tuesday, June 25, at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre to read a play out loud.

The next meeting of Playwrights of Denton will be Tuesday, July 16. Please email thedctteam@campustheatre.com if you're planning to bring a scene, act, or play so we can put out a call for readers.

The Second Saturdays Seminar on July 13 will be Michael Chekhov: On Theatre and the Art of Acting. Recorded in 1955, these tapes of "Stanislavski's best student" are a treasure trove of acting advice and technique. Come and listen in the cool to these still-hot ideas, thanks to the new additions to the DCT library from Ralph Culp's personal collection. The Second Saturdays Seminars are held from 1-3 pm at the Campus Theatre and they're free!

Congratulations to all the Play Readers and Writers who have been cast in the next Black Box production, a double bill of Woody Allen's one-acts, Death and God. Cast list coming soon!

Greater Tuna opens tonight and runs until June 30. Buster Maloney and Justin Harmon reprise their repertoire of hilarious citizens of Tuna, Texas. More info at www.dentoncommunitytheatre.com!

Play Readers of Denton will meet July 2

Play Readers of Denton will next meet July 2 at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre to read a play out loud. Last week, we read Yeats' Riders to the Sea, Coward's Fumed Oak, and Barrie's The Twelve Pound Look. We will be reading August: Osage County in anticipation of auditions; it will probably take us two meetings to finish it, because it's such a long play.
