Play Readers will NOT meet July 31

Play Readers of Denton will NOT meet Tuesday, July 31, since it will be the fifth Tuesday in the month. Last week, Jessica reports that Play Readers had a good time reading Butterflies are Free. The next meeting of Play Readers will be Tuesday, August 7 at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre.

Playwrights of Denton and Second Saturdays Seminar are on hiatus for the summer--the next Second Saturdays Seminar will be Sept. 8, and the next Playwrights of Denton meeting will be Sept. 18.

Baby With the Bathwater opens August 3 at the DCT POINTBank Black Box for three performances only! Tickets are $10 and can be purchased through the Campus Theatre Box Office. More info at http://www.dentoncommunitytheatre.com/#!__black-box. It's going to be great!

Season tickets and tax-deductible DCT memberships are now on sale. It's a great season lineup that includes George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion (the play that inspired My Fair Lady), The Elephant Man, Cheaper by the Dozen, The King and I, M*A*S*H creator Larry Gelbart's Sly Fox, and Oprah Winfrey's musical version of The Color Purple. Special events will include It's a Wonderful Life in December and Greater Tuna in June. Season ticket holders receive a discounted ticket price over the entire season, priority reservation access, and can exchange tickets for another performance without a fee.

Playwrights of Denton will NOT meet July 17

Playwrights of Denton is on hiatus for the summer, so we won't meet July 17. The next meeting of Play Readers of Denton will be Tuesday, July 24, at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre.

Second Saturdays Seminar is also on hiatus for the summer--the next Second Saturdays Seminar will be Sept. 8.

Congratulations to Play Readers Buster Maloney, Johnny Williams, John Evarts, Amber Bryant, Julie Brinker, Pat Watson, and Carol Howdeshell, who have been cast in DCT's Mainstage production of Pygmalion! Play Reader Dennis Welch directs, and Play Reader Damon Wadyko will design the sound. The production will open September 14.

Play Readers will meet July 10

Play Readers of Denton will meet Tuesday, July 10, at 7 pm to read a play out loud. At the last meeting on June 26, the group read Pygmalion, which will be performed by DCT Sept. 14-23. Auditions are July 9 and 10 at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre; more info at http://www.dentoncommunitytheatre.com/#!auditions. Break a leg, everyone!

The next meeting of Play Readers will be Tuesday, July 24. There won't be a meeting on July 17 (which would be a Playwrights night) or July 31 (which would be the fifth Tuesday in the month).
