Play Readers will meet Sept. 3

Play Readers of Denton will next meet Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre to read a play out loud.Last week, we read Neil LaBute's Fat Pig.

The next meeting of Playwrights of Denton will be September 17 at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre. Please email thedctteam@campustheatre.com if you're bringing something that requires readers.

The Second Saturdays Seminar on Sept. 14 will be our quarterly Volunteer Orientation. It will start at 1 pm, and both old and new volunteers are welcome.

Third Annual Method and Madness
 Playwriting Competition and Festival
Denton Community Theatre is pleased to announce the call for scripts for the third annual Method and Madness one-act playwriting competition. The winning plays will receive cash prizes and staged readings at the Method and Madness Playwriting Festival at the DCT POINTBank Black Box Theatre May 30and 31, 2014. All submissions must run under 50 minutes; comedies, dramas, musicals, and experimental pieces are all welcome. Awards range from $2000 for first place to $200 for fifth place. Submission deadline is December 1, 2013. Play Readers will NOT meet August 13

Woody Allen's one-act plays, Death and God, opens tonight at the POINTBank Black Box Theatre, just down the street from the Campus. They feature a slew of Play Readers and will run this weekend only--7:30 tonight and tomorrow, and 2 pm on Sunday. General admission tickets are $15 each, and will be available at the door.
