Play Readers of Denton will meet May 1

Play Readers of Denton will meet Tuesday, May 1, at 7 pm to read a play out loud at the Campus Theatre. Last week, we read Heather MacDonald's play, Faulkner's Bicycle.

The next meeting of Playwrights of Denton will be May 15.

The Method and Madness Playwriting Festival is coming up! Registration forms are available at http://www.dentoncommunitytheatre.com/#!_outreach-home/play-writing-contest. In addition to a great lineup of staged readings, we're also proud to announce that workshops will feature distinguished speakers like Michael Serrecchia (who starred on Broadway in the original cast of A Chorus Line, among many other productions) and published playwrights and authors Donna Trammell, Donna Fielder, and Randy Schmidt, as well as mental health experts Dr. Linda Rubin, Dr. Dan Creson, and Susanne Coffey.

MTD's production of Fiddler on the Roof opens May 4, under the direction of Play Reader Jim Laney. The cast includes Play Readers John Evarts, Carol Howdeshell, Pat Watson, Bryan Patrick, Kevin Wickersham, and Wes Porter, with Play Readers Brad Speck, Gerald Young, Elsie Barrow, and Jason Joos helping behind the scenes.

Play Readers of Denton will meet April 24

Play Readers of Denton will meet Tuesday, April 24, at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre to read a play out loud. We have some new scripts to read, if we get approximately the right number of readers!

Playwrights of Denton will meet April 17

Playwrights of Denton will meet Tuesday, April 17, at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre to support the work of local playwrights.

Last week, Play Readers of Denton talked logistics about the upcoming Method and Madness Playwriting Festival. We're still looking for directors and potential cast members; let Julie know at thedctteam@campustheatre.com or 940 382-7014 x3.

The next meeting of Play Readers will be April 24; the next meeting of Playwrights (after the upcoming one) will be May 15.

Congratulations to Play Readers Mark Jadrych, John Rodgers, Melissa Karol, Kenny Fudge, and Travis Barth, who have all been cast in DCT's upcoming MainStage production of All My Sons. Play Reader Damon Wadyko is designing sound.

Play Readers will meet April 10

Play Readers will meet Tuesday, April 10, at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre in downtown Denton to read a play out loud. Last week, we read the winning entry in the Method and Madness Playwriting Competition, Family Matters.

The next meeting of Playwrights of Denton will be Tuesday, April 17, at 7 pm.

DCT's MainStage production of Little Women, the musical version of Louisa May Alcott's beloved classic, opens this weekend and runs until April 15. Auditions for DCT's next mainstage production, Arthur Miller's All My Sons, are Monday and Tuesday, April 9 and 10, at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre.
