Play Readers will meet Feb. 28

Play Readers of Denton will meet Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre to read one or two one-act plays out loud.

At Playwrights of Denton last week, we didn't have any new work to share, so we just had a good visit. The next meeting of Playwrights of Denton will be March 20.

At the Second Saturday Seminar on March 10 (from 1-3 pm at the Campus Theatre), we will finish our task of reading and evaluating new plays for the Method and Madness Playwriting Competition and Festival. We are definitely on track to announce winners by April 1st!

Music Theatre of Denton opens Avenue Q next weekend. More info at http://www.musictheatreofdenton.com/Current_Production.htm.

Enjoy the Oscars Sunday night!

Playwrights of Denton will meet Feb. 21

Playwrights of Denton will meet Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre to support the work and vision of local playwrights. The next meeting of Playwrights of Denton will be Tuesday, March 20.

At the Play Readers of Denton this past week, we read, adjudicated, and "retired" two more scripts in the Method and Madness Playwriting Competition. We'll be doing the same thing at our next meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

The next Second Saturdays Seminar on March 10 will be the last chance to "Read and Evaluate New Scripts" from 1-3 at the Campus Theatre--and it's free!

Congratulations to Play Readers Mandy Rausch and Melanie Welch, who have been cast in DCT's Black Box production of Dog Sees God, directed by Play Reader Kenny Fudge. More info at http://www.dentoncommunitytheatre.com/blackbox.htm.

Auditions for the DCT MainStage production of Arthur Miller's All My Sons are coming up in April--stay tuned for further information!

Hope to see you at the Campus soon!

Play Readers will meet Feb. 14

Play Readers will meet Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 7 pm at the Campus Theatre to read and evaluate two more one-act plays that are entered into the Method and Madness Playwriting competition. I can't promise that they'll be Valentine's Day appropriate, but I'll try! The Thin Line Film Festival will be using the Campus Theatre downstairs, but just check in at the box office and then we'll move upstairs to the Board Room as usual.

The next meeting of Playwrights of Denton will be Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 7 pm.

The Second Saturdays Seminar from 1-3 pm on Saturday, Feb. 11, will continue our mission to read and evaluate two more one-act plays for the competition. Training is fast and easy, for anyone who hasn't done it yet!

Auditions for the Black Box production of Dog Sees God are coming up Feb. 11 and 12. More info at http://www.dentoncommunitytheatre.com/DogSeesGod.htm. Break a leg!
